A brand new series of races by Avon Valley Runners around a pan flat course with high PB potential.
There was plently of parking and a very quick registration process. A short walk to the start line and a thorough race briefing. Lots of marshals on route giving encouragement and making sure runners were safe.
Fantastic value for money for a 'no frills' race with a small raffle based on race numbers worn for the event.
The route is not especially scenic and repetitive (3 laps) but the speed of it will attract lots of runners.

thank you for your feedback Sarah, very much appreciated.
Start with the bad then finish good.
The race numbers are terrible, way too big and stiff. No problem with them if they were half the size but the size is unnecessary and awkward to wear. Easy fix is to cut them down top and bottom which will transform them into some of the best numbers you can get.
The back straight with lorries and traffic probably needs a Marshall with the open roads. I agree you need to rely on runner Common sense but some extra supervision would be welcome.
Finally I think the prizes were poor for the winners. Top three a cheap bottle of wine in each gender. Bottle for first in vet cat. That's standard in fell races which will be referenced in this review in a positive comparison.
Positives. Overall organisation is excellent. Bang on. Timely. Clear. Concise. Really good can't do much better for sure.
Price. Superb. Why should races be more?! People are crying out for races without the t-shirt and medal tat. The reduced price cost makes it accessible and welcoming to all.
Atmosphere. AVR through and through. Feel good honest fun. You're a great bunch. It had the feel of a fell race (which is my main background) and if you don't know, fell running is all about having a good time with good people whilst being accessible and seeing all your mates. Granted not on a hillside which is a shame but we're going for PBs!! Great job in this respect.
Parking easy. Entry easy. Well done. Back to basics racing at its best. More of this is needed and I'm so grateful you're providing it.

Thank you for the feedback William, will send on to the committee so we can improve for the next one.
As the first event, this was a great race. Well organised, well marshalled and a great course for a PB. Extemely flat and run on roads and pavement with only a handful of areas where the surface was broken up. Would run again in this series.
