The Bridgwater Bolt 10k is back and kicks off our Race Series for 2018 and will be our biggest event yet!
This is a predominantly flat route with a nice mix of urban and country scenery - just a couple of hills to contend with. After selling out again last year we have opened bookings early and have increased the number of entries. We expect extries to sell out before the event date, as per the past few years.
Following your feedback we will be using the new route as in 2017 which is a one lap mix of urban roads and quiet country lanes through Chilton Trinity and Wembdon. The course profile is mainly flat with just 2 hills, so if you are looking for a beginner friendly 10k, this is the place to be. Beautiful views of the Quantock Hills and Somerset Levels add to the attraction of this exciting race.
Runners of all abilities (including walkers) are welcome at the event which is now in its 7th year and starts at 10.00am at Trinity Sports & Leisure, where you will have use of the changing rooms, showers, toilets, swimming pool and cafe.
We know it can seem a long time for spectators to wait, especially the youngest members of the family, so we will have activities for all ages including our very popular 1k fun run (£2.50 entry includes medal), bouncy castle, family swim session, racquet sports and refreshments. Or why not sit back and relax with a hot drink and snack from our poolside cafe.
The Bridgwater Bolt is part of the 1610 Race Series, consisting of four 10k races and our family 5k & 2k fun run - which are all located across the counties of Somerset and Dorset.
By taking part in the 1610 Race Series you are fundraising for your local 1610 leisure centre, providing sports and leisure facilities for the whole community.
If you have any questions about the event please contact the 1610 Events Team on 01823 219001 or at firstname.lastname@example.org.

This was my first race in official team colours for Weston Athletic Club and a memorable one due to running my fastest ever 10km time.
The race was well organised with a nice family atmosphere and relatively flat course.
