About the race

Tough running in Guildford

Guildford’s toughest trail events are now in their 11th year. A sell out event attracting the very best and worst runners – it just doesn’t matter, as long as you have a great time.

Medals, brownies, flapjacks, hills and a little mud = excellent fun for all.

Very tough but what a great run!

Well, that's all 3 of the G3's done - thanks for a great series - finishing with this extra-tough - for me, anyway :-) - newly introduced 15k option!  All very well organised, marshalled, marked etc. and a beautiful course in the Surrey Hills.

Tough, muddy and FUN

I have done all 3 of the G3 series now and they are firmly on my events calendar for next year as they have been a fantastic series.

Each G3 has a slightly different route and as this was the final one you had a choice of 10km or 15km. The weather before this one was a week of rain so the course was very slippery and muddy the whole way round but that is part of the fun!

The hills were tough (especially that hidden hill up to St Martha's!), the views stunning and atmosphere good so I highly recommend it.

Route was well signposted and marshalled throughout so top marks! Brownies and flapjacks at the end were ace as well.

Thanks AAT for another awesome event!

Fantastic Trail Race

Another great trail race.  Definitely the most challenging of the 3 races in terms of ascents but some lovely fast descents.  The addition of the 15k option plus all the mud made for some tired legs but the support from all the marshalls made for a fantastic experience.  And an added bonus this time - the 15k was only 15k!  Very welcome flapjack at the end and a great medal.  Will definitely be signing up for the series next year.

Breathtaking. Both the views & lungs!

Fitstuff G3 Race 3

I absolutely loved everything about this race. The weather was pretty wet on arrival so it was so refreshing to find a race that started in the car park where we were all parked. Too many events these days involve a trek to the start, then you end up shivering at the start line for ages. This was perfect. The hills, mud and cross country route made for a challenging run. It was so peaceful too. I ended up in the middle of the runners so a lot of the time it was just me and the scenery. Lovely. I can't wait for the next one.

Amazingly tasty brownies at the end. I wouldn't normally dream of eating a brownie at 10am usually, but these were the perfect post-race snack.

Thanks aat and Becky.

Love G3s - first time I have done the 15km, but excellent as always

Not sure that AAT have done 15km before, but this is just brilliant - hilly, muddy, sandy, chalky, but fabulous !!  Wouldn't change anything - it has a really nice, small, familial atmosphere from the start to the finish.  Even spotted Toby half way round fixing up the km markers !

G3 Series

Fitstuff G3 Race 3

My friend recommended this race and I was pleased that he did. It was a very well organised event with excellent marshals. It was a very tough, technical, hilly off road route that is set in the beautiful North Downs and it was brilliant. I throughly enjoyed it and next time, I will be doing all 3 races!

Fitstuff G3 Race 3

great race complete the three of them this year . Very tough hills but no problem walking up them as loads of other competitors do to you don't feel to bad. Great feeling getting my three medals will definitely do it again in 2018 . Great runs to take part in for the new year.

Trail Racing At Its Best!

Trail/cross country racing at its best, and this year, with the added benefit of a new distance (15km).  Stunning countryside, and plenty of tough and varied running terrain, including mud (lots), sand, rocks, tough ascents and exhilarating descents.  If you like you running tough, then this event is for you.  However, as the event is very welcoming and friendly, less experienced runners can really enjoy the event too.  The course was very well marked out, with plenty of enthusiastic marshalls to help us runners on our way.  In conclsion, a great event, and I look forward to another 15km at this event next year!

Great community event

There's a great community feel to this run. Tough course with loads of mud but beautiful scenery and great support. Would recommend the series as a great way to start the year. Brownie makes it all worthwhile.

Fitstuff G3 Race 3

great race did all three in this event series. Hard hilly course with a bit of mud that's very slippy but you'll get through it.

the hills are tough but a great feeling when you get to the top.

Would Recommend the G3 series it's a great way to start the new year.

Fitstuff G3 Race 3

my third of running in the G3 series and it never disappoints. Challenging course with some long hills but with views making it worth the climb. Great bit of bling at the end and a yummy chocolate brownie. Winner. Looking forward to the 2017 series already
