About the race

Early Bird rates end 31st Jan 2018. Every penny we raise goes to charity!

Woking Lions Club is organising its 3rd Fund-raising Fun Run from Fairoaks Airport across Horsell Common on the north side of Woking on Sunday 1st July 2018. As previously, the run will start in the attractive surroundings of McLaren Park, adjoining and to the rear of the iconic car manufacturer, McLaren. The route for all 3 distances firstly heads south into the well tree stocked part of Horsell Common with 2 of the runs skirting the edge of the well-known sand pits of H G Wells fame. The longer runs take in the now well-established Wetlands Centre to the west edge of the Common, and the whole route is “off road” through woodland and open fields, with 2 water stations in the middle of the runs, and a further one at the finish.

All funds raised will go out to Transform Housing to support its Woking properties and residents, Woking & Sam Beare Hospice towards the outstanding ‘new build’ costs, York Road Projects to help them look after the many homeless people and to other local Community Welfare good causes within our area.

Running with Pride

This local race across and aroumd Horsell Common is great fun and well organised by Woking Lions

2018 was my second year running the half marathon and for the second year in a row it was HOT!

The terrain and heat has impacted me both years, but the marshals and support kept me going with a smile!

Thank you Woking Lions - I'll be back next year...
