← Jubilee River Swim

O.K. so a 10k swim is not for everyone but if your going to try one, I would recommend this event but be quick, it sells out every year.

This year saw a change in logistics which wasn't ideal. Parking at the race course was easy with plenty of space but on finishing this year, getting back to your car was a bus ride away. Not a major issue but preferred the logistic of the previous year.

The race briefing is always quick and concise delivered with humor and not long after you are in the river. The race is always made up of 4 waves, with the last wave being the faster swimmers. As they set off every 30 mins, there is not too much congestion as the race progresses. The race is also broken out into 4 sections where you need to exit the river (to avoid the weirs) so you can either attempt it solo or as part of a team, picking an choosing how many sections you want to do. Even though this is a river, don’t expect too much in terms of a helpful current.

If your tempted but think 10k is too long, take part as a team, if you do i’m sure you’ll be back for the whole thing.
