← Ware 10s

I have run a few of these before. The Turks Head 10 and the Petts Wood 10 to name but two. The Wares 10 is a double distance race, like the Gut Buster, with a 10K or a 10 Miler. I liked the options and went for the 10K. A good group of us were going, with a several couples living locally.

The RD was superb and we were sent weekly training plans and updates. The social media present was very good too, and the photos would be free and sent out via Facebook and Twitter.

The course was a loop for the 10K, and a loop and a half for the 10M that started 10 mins later. You started in a field, a quick loop and you were out and over a footbridge and along the canal. After a while we ran up a few residential hills, before back along the canal and through a couple of parks and back again.

It was baking hot, there were 3 water stations on the 10K and 6 for the marathon before we got home and to the finish.

£12 for a tee, a medal and a well marshalled race is superb. Sure it was just water on the water tables, but that was expected. They had set out a lot of stalls too, so we had ice creams, drinks, cakes and enjoyed the atmosphere.

I may not, but I think everyone else will be back next year
