Hooky 6 is one of those perfect small club events organised by runners for runners. The route is 2 laps through the village of Hook Norton and the surrounding area through some lovely countryside. Not the easiest with a few short sharp climbs but no serious hills...

Marshalling is great and the start finish areas are well signposted and plenty of people around to help if you have questions. Good support around and about on the course and a well stocked water station which you pass twice.

Race photography is provided free of charge by Barry Cornileus of oxonraces which is good as many races now use companies who charge for race photos.

Finishers medal is one of the best I’ve had and the goody bag was well stocked with a momento, post race snack, crisps and a drink. Along with the bar at the social club post race recovery (or a pint) is well catered for.

Only slight downside is it’s not quite the full traditional 10k but 6 miles is close enough...

For the money it’s a great value race which I would highly recommend doing and will probably be back again next year.
