Loved this 10k and was chuffed to bits to get a 10k PB on such a challenging route.
Great atmosphere, loads of support and bands enroute, fab event village and lovely marshals. However, the heat was a killer and the lumpy route made this a tough run. There was a water station half way however on such a hot day, a second station along the route would have really helped. With very little shade, most of the runners were melting.
Loved the medal and t-shirt, however slightly disappointed to not get a goody bag. It was lovely to hang around Barry Island after the run, the beach is stunning and the recent modernisations really make this a lovely place for a family day out.
I’m not sure if I’d do it again, a bit too lumpy for my liking, however I thoroughly enjoyed it and think the Run4Wales team did a great job.
