← The Hilly Helmet Challenge

This year was the second year the Hilly Helmet Challenge ran (no pun intended) to raise fund for Brain Tumour Support. It’s 4ish (my Garmin made it 4.27) miles from the local leisure centre, through woodland area up to Salisbury Plain and back down again.

It’s in the title but was still unprepared for the amount of uphill, still enjoyed it though as the views were amazing and there was a lot of support from people walking on the route as well as the marshals. I would recommend wearing trail shoes though as could be a little slippy on the downhill.

Also wear a helmet (again it’s in the title) and fancy dress is encouraged, there were prizes at the end as well as spot prizes based in your bib number. Every finisher received a unique memento from a local pottery, which made a nice change from a medal.

There was plenty of parking at the start/finish as was at the leisure centre, also plenty of facilities and there was a bar and BBQ at the end. I can’t wait to run this again next year.

thank you Lil, glad you enjoyed it - Hilly Run
