This (like all the My Sporting Times events) is a classic! Running from the historic Mapledurham House through the estate is truly special and it is fantastic that most of the people who live in this tiny hamlet come out to cheer you on. The course features a number of challenging little hills, the best of which really does get you wondering what on earth possessed you to enter the race, but it’s over pretty quickly and you can settle into the rest of the race. I am not the only person who enjoys running through mud and this route has a fair bit of it, so trail shoes are highly recommended. All finishers get a medal and mince pies washed down with mulled wine; what’s not to like?
