← Weybridge 10k

So, I always think that the first crack at doing anything is bound to have some teething issues and it's only fair to give some slack. The first year for this race was no exception. Some minor tweaks will be needed for future years: providing ties for shoe tag timing chips, the race brief / start procedure and queues for medals afterwards for example.

BUT, the positives far outweigh these minor niggles. This is a gorgeous course taking in the Thames and sleepy centre of Weybridge. The marshalling was great, as was the local support, especially given the pouring rain and gales blowing! The comms were plentiful in the build up to race day (almost too much?!) and clearly lots of effort had been put into providing a top class race village (cocktail bus anyone?).

Overall, this was a good race, well organised and could be a great annual fixture if the first year creases are ironed out!
