← Selkie Henley Classic
Competed for the first time in 2017. The course is totally unique as you swim the course of the Henley Regatta. The water is good quality and the swim is pretty much in a straight line for the 2.1km. The swim is upstream so challenging but the current isn't too strong.
Registration was straightforward online, as was collection of the swim cap and reward bag on the day. The village opens at 2am and offered a range of catering and retail outlets along with seating areas.
The event is incredible and it's clear that many people return year after year - which isn't surprising as there is so much camaraderie and team spirit. Not everyone is aiming for a PB - it seemed to me that a lot of people come along for the experience.
I'll definitely be back next year
