← Hever Castle - Triathlon Series

I loved this triathlon! The lake seems to get quite cold, so be prepared for a chilly swim, but the run up the hill to transition should warm you up and the undulating bike course and trail run with a cheeky uphill certainly will!

The starts are all mixed, so be prepared for some bruising in the washing machine of the swim (through the whole distance of the swim in my leg) and the bike course is very busy and on open roads. Whilst excellently marshalled and policed for drafting (a number of disaqualifications), it demands excellent bike handling skills as you go through the mix of semi-pro triathletes through to beginner cyclists, mixed in with residents going about their weekend business - which makes for some unpredictable moments!

The scenery on the run is breathtaking (in every way) and really makes the whole tri. And the finish area has a totally brilliant vibe with loads of stands, really enthusiastic announcers and a constant throng of people, families, dogs etc!
