Great race. Every year there is a good atmosphere. There is a good variety of stalls for pre and post race. All the officials are helpful. This year the roads were a bit rough. The organisers can only do so much. But pot holes have been marked up. I would whole heartedly recommend doing this. Wether first timer or a seasoned professional.
This was the third time I have raced here. I was looking for a PB but missed out due to recovering from man flu and lack of sleep but had a really good time. Met some lovely people. I'll be back next year.
Friendly, well-organised event. Enjoyed it this year as much as when a first-timer six years ago. I'll be back next year to knock off the 35 seconds to get me down to 1 hour!
Very impressed with the organisation of the race, especially as it was my first triathlon.
This was my first triathlon and I'm so pleased I did it. It was really well organised and I got lots of advice and help from Registration, from volunteers and from other competitors.
I have raced here twice now and have found it to be a very relaxed and friendly race. I would certainly recomend it for first timers. I shall be back in 2017 for another go and to beat my PB. I have had many corrispondances with the officials and they were always very helpful
Really nervous doing this as it was my first, out of the 14 in my brieing group all of us were novices! The event was well organised and welcoming, not too big or scary. Loved the bike course in the sunshine, the run was hard work in the heat!
As a first timer I couldn't have picked a better race to start with. The support before the race from the organisers was excellent, responding to my probably silly questions in super quick time.
I would particularly like to thank the marshall who fixed my bike chain which had fallen off and jammed about 5 minutes into the cycling section. I could not have completed the course without your help as well as the other competitors who also stopped which was completely unexpected, but so team spirited and completely sums up this event.
My First Tri and very local to where I live. Relaxed and well organised with helpful staff and marshalls. Pool, at start appeared to be busy as you are required (in the sprint) to swim 4 lengths of 4 lanes and move between lanes are each 4 lengths. Very plesent cycle on fairly quiet country roads and run in a school playing field which is fairly flat but drops slightly requiring a small 'climb' back toward the start/finish line
This was indeed a good beginners course. The course relatively flat and safe. The run is a bit boring as it is 4 laps around a field, but no complaints. The only concern I had was I was emailed no pre-race information, specifically around start times etc. This meant I got to the venue far too early and had to hang around.
