On recommendation from a fellow runner when looking for long runs as part of my London Marathon training, I entered the Bramley 20. Parking is a bit far from the start, which made the walk back after a little tricky. It's 2 x 10 mile laps round country roads. Reading Road Runners put estimated finish time pens at the start line so you could start in the right place to avoid any crushing. The weather on the day overall was pretty good (there was a breathe hailstone shower at one point). The course is quite fast with a few hills at times. Local support in places goes really quiet because of the location of the course but when it was there it really helped. Good medal and race goodie bag at the end. The marshalls were really supportive and the event was well organised.

Good course run on country roads near Reading. Sinlge lap for the 10, double for the 20. Easy navigation on the course. Great organisation by Reading Road Runners.
Undulating course but fast.

Brilliantly organised and a challenging 2 lap course. Next year please arrange fo it to be less windy.

Having originally booked to complete the longer distance, the race organisers were very flexible when I needed to drop down to the 10 miler due to recent illnesses. There was a very long walk from the designated car parking area; however, the parking and all facilities at the race HQ were very well organised.
The route was well supervised by the marshalls, who were very also vocal and supportive. Although the roads were not closed for the event, the route was very quiet along the country lanes, and any cars that came along were quickly directed to wait for runners as appropriate.
Water was provided in cups in small amounts, which was perfect for me. However, these were not always ready for the amount of runners coming through and we had to stop for a short while and wait for a drink when it was busy.
The goody bag and medal provided are great - the banana and chocolate milk were quickly devoured, followed closely by the Mars Bar! Having a buff with the medal logo on it is a nice touch and makes a change from the usual t-shirt.
I would book to do this again, hopefully the 20 next time :-)

Overall, it was a really great race. The marshalls were first rate all the way round with an encouraging cheer and a high five (even staying in the biting cold to help the 20 milers return for their second lap which was much appreciated!) Great frequency with the water stops (the wind did hamper a couple of the stops and caused a lot of the cups to be knocked over on the table, which caused a bit of a tailback once or twice for people to get drinks, but this was just the circumstance). There was a fantastic of atmosphere between the runners which really helped everyone along. The organisation was great, clearly marked and signposted and great availability of race day parking (the one word of warning against this is that it can be about 20 minute-ish walk away which was a challenge after the 20!).
Would strongly recommend for both the 10 and the 20, will def run it again.

I really enjoyed the route and the cameraderie of this run. The scenery was lovely and the marshals very good.
I even managed to get a massage at the end of the race!
