A beautiful run up and down the River Thames - like most lap courses it gets repetitive around the 75% mark, but by that point the end is in sight! The aid station is well stocked, everyone is friendly, and you chat with all the other competitors as you pass each other both in opposite directions and in the direction of travel. Despite a small event, it's a lovely one at that, and with it being a 6h time limited event, you've the option of running as far as you want. You can finish after 5k, 10k, or anything up to an Ultra Marathon - perfect for getting a training run in for a spring race to match your training plan!

Another great instalment from Phoenix running. Friendly atmosphere and clearly a race for runners. Everything a runner could want, huge bling, no fuss in registration, sweets at aid station every 5k. And lots of friendly support. This is a small event and the support is basicall...

This is a small event and the support is basically the fellow runners and marshals as you pass every few minutes. There are always walkers on the Thames path, and this can be a bit mixed. Full of numerous people who won't move out of the way, chased by dogs, obstructed by geese and almost taken out by rowers carrying their ores. But it's all good fun and a good race to take at a relaxed pace.
