This was an ambitious weekend of high quality races, in a unique venue with a high level of safety.

This weekend featured the British Middle Distance Championships for 2018. The entry fee made the race non-inclusive and was as expensive as a Euro or World Age Group Championship Race. The organiser and the BTF need to work together to reduce the financial inequalities that championship races poses to championship contenders.

The quality of venue was superb, as were the marshalls however I think that given the high temperature on the day, more people were required on the run drink stations.

The registration was disrupted by England football team playing in the World Cup and the advertised time available to register on Saturday serverely restricted the numbers pre-registering. The Gauntlet start on Sunday was delayed by nearly an hour due to delays at registration.

As a championship race, I wanted to know the race numbers of the competitors in my age group, but was told that this information could not be given for reasons of GDPR!! I was registering on Saturday.

The decision to make the swim non-wetsuit on the race day was only made known by word of mouth ( no PA in cycle transition? )

Thank you.
