← AJ Bell Great Birmingham Run
This is a major event and has all the "trimmings" that could be expected. The event is well organised with excellent briefings and marshalling. The route is pretty flat apart from a couple of up-hill sections around 8-9k into the course. Be prepared for these as they are longer than expected! There was one water station around the 5k mark and water/aid at the end of the course. No sweets / showers (like on Manchester 10k) though. Local support is excellent in many parts of the course and greatly appreciated.
The course itself has some unique elements (e.g. Edgbaston stadium) but other parts are pretty dull street sections through industrial parts of Birmingham.
Medal and finishers pack is good.
